Dr. Zhang Erwei is a distinguished urologist who served as the Director of Urology at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University in China, the world’s largest hospital. With a career dedicated to advancing urological care, he has built a reputation for clinical excellence, particularly in oncologic surgery and minimally invasive techniques. His expertise is supported by a robust educational background, having earned his Bachelor of Medicine from Zhengzhou University, a Master of Surgery from Xi’an Jiaotong University, and a Ph.D. in Surgery (Clinical) from Capital Medical University in China.

Dr. Zhang’s clinical practice is characterised by a commitment to patient-centred, precision surgery, with strong proficiency in the minimally invasive treatment of urological tumours, particularly using the da Vinci robotic system and advanced laparoscopy. His surgical repertoire includes complex procedures such as radical cystectomy, nerve-sparing prostatectomy to preserve function, and nephron-sparing partial nephrectomies.

In addition to his focus on oncology, Dr. Zhang has extensive expertise in managing adrenal diseases, treating complex urinary calculi using techniques such as percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), and performing intricate urinary tract reconstructions for conditions such as hydronephrosis and urethral strictures.

From 2016 to 2024, Dr. Zhang was an integral part of the Chinese Medical Team in Zambia, progressing from a team member to Assistant Team Leader.
