Following a meeting with the Ministry of Health in December 2025, a delegation from the International Hospital of Zambia (IHZ) and Neusoft Medical Systems Co. Ltd. of China visited the Honourable Minister of Health, Dr. Elijah Muchima, MP. The discussions centred on enhancing collaboration to support the transformation of healthcare in Zambia, particularly in the areas of medical imaging, telemedicine, and technology transfer.
During the meeting, Mr. Dan Zhang, Vice President of Neusoft Medical Systems Co., Ltd. and General Manager of the International Business Centre, informed the Minister that IHZ and Neusoft have established a structured collaboration. This partnership is part of a strategic initiative aimed at improving access to state-of-the-art diagnostic technologies in Zambia, supporting national healthcare goals, advancing specialised clinical services, and enhancing patient outcomes.
Welcoming the delegation, the Minister expressed the Government’s readiness to work with Neusoft to address challenges related to medical equipment. He emphasised the importance of sharing insights on advancements in diagnostics and specialised care to foster goodwill and professional collaboration.
The Neusoft team also held a consultative session with Mr. Huang Yaochi, Group CEO of the Wonderful Group of Companies; Mr. Shashank Mehta, IHZ Board Chairman; Mr. Mutengo Sindano, IHZ Acting Chief Executive Officer; and selected hospital and group staff. During this meeting, Neusoft presented new opportunities for exploring medical breakthroughs through cutting-edge medical equipment and discussed how AI applications could significantly enhance medical procedures for the benefit of the wider community.
In a separate engagement, IHZ and Neusoft paid a courtesy call on Mr. Siazongo Siakalenge, Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet for Finance and Economic Development. Mr. Siakalenge encouraged Neusoft to consider establishing a medical equipment manufacturing plant in Zambia, highlighting the country’s favourable business climate.
The Neusoft delegation also toured the National Heart Hospital, Levy Mwanawasa University Teaching Hospital, and the Cancer Diseases Hospital to gain insights into potential areas for partnership and collaboration in specialised care.
